William Wood

     William Wood was born on 13 December 1816 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of William Wood and Helen Sclater. William Wood was baptized on 21 December 1816 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was a boatbuilder and ship carpenter. He married Elspet Priest at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 13 November 1845.2
He was listed as head of household in the 1861 census at 157 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: William Wood, head; Elspet Wood, wife; Alexander Pirrie, son-in-law (sic).3
He married Helen McKenzie at Seafield Church, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 13 November 1869.4,5 William died on 7 June 1870 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 53.6
