     Mary Helen Cheyne was born illegitimate on 19 September 1886 at Balnamoon, New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of Helen Cheyne.
She was listed as head of household's granddaughter in the 1891 census at Balnamoon, New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: John Cheyne, head; Hellen Cheyne, wife; Mary Ann Cheyne, daughter; Mary Hellen Cheyne, granddaughter.2

She was listed as head of household's granddaughter in the 1901 census at Balnamoon, New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: John Cheyne, head; Helen Ironside or Cheyne, wife; Helen Cheyne, daughter; Mary H Cheyne, granddaughter.3
Mary Helen Cheyne was found on a passenger list for April 1909 of the steam ship 'Corinthian', Quebec, Quebec, Canada.4 She married Frederick Charles Malcolm Bain at Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1909.5,6 As of 1909, her married name was Mary Helen Bain. Mary died on 11 December 1967 at Moosomin Union Hospital, Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada, at age 81.5 She was buried on 14 December 1967 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada.7,5
