     Elsie Mair was born illegitimate on 21 September 1886 at 207 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2 She was the daughter of William Alexander Mair and Catherine Mair.
She was listed as head of household's daughter in the 1901 census at 191 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: Alex Mair Shavie, head; Cathrine Mair Shavie, wife; George Mair, son; Elsie Mair, daughter; John Mair, son; Aleckina Mair, daughter; David Mair, son.3
She married John Hughes Cow at Parish of Saint Nicholas, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on 11 February 1925.4 As of 11 February 1925, her married name was Elsie Cow. Elsie died on 2 August 1950 at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at age 63.4
