     Catherine Mair was born on 9 April 1843 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of Alexander Mair and Janet Sclater. Catherine Mair was baptized on 15 April 1843 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 Her family was known by the tee-name of "Bo".

She married David Galt at Parish of Seafield, Banffshire, Scotland, on 28 September 1872.3,4 As of 28 September 1872, her married name was Catherine Galt. Catherine died on 27 May 1925 at Banff, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 82.4
