His family was known by the tee-name of "King Buckie" or "Buckie". John Lyon Wood was a fisherman. He was the informant for Barbara Farquhar Slater's death at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 26 May 1916.1 He married Elsie Maggie Mair at 1 Dover Place, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 21 January 1922.2,1
The Buckie and District Directory for 1926 shows that John Lyon Wood lived at 8 Blantyre Place, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.3 John died on 8 March 1967 at City Hospital, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at age 68.1
