William George Slater

     William George Slater was born on 3 January 1920 at 4 Seafield Terrace, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of William Slater and Helen Slater. His family was known by the tee-name of "Wildie". He married Beryl Falconer at Strathlene Hotel, Banffshire, Scotland, on 11 October 1947.1 Author of 'Portknockie Memories', a compilation of personal reminiscences of people, places and events in an around Portknockie, published by the Cullen, Deskford & Portknockie Heritage Group. William died on 27 April 2005 at Dr. Gray's Hospital, Elgin, Moray, Scotland, at age 85.2 His body was cremated on 3 May 2005 at Moray Crematorium, Buckie, Moray, Scotland.2
