     Mary was born at Rathen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, circa 1782. She was the daughter of William Duthie and Janet Unknown. She married George Ritchie at Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on 17 November 1805.1 As of 17 November 1805, her married name was Mary Ritchie.
