James Wood

     James Wood was born illegitimate circa 1856. James Pirie was the reputed father of James Wood "Pirie".1,2 He was the son of James Pirie and Margaret Wood. His family was known by the tee-name of "Pirie". James Wood was a fisherman and herring drift net fisherman. He married Catherine Mair at Seafield Church, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 27 September 1878.3,2
