John Mair "Mull" or "Bobbin" (1885-1962)
     John Mair was born on 6 June 1885 at 237 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of John Mair and Margaret Mair. His family was known by the tee-name of "Mull" or "Bobbin". According to Edgar Donaldson Mair, the Tee-name was actually "Mull", but often "Bobbin" was used instead.2
He was listed as head of household's son in the 1891 census at 237 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. The house was called 'Fleur-de-Lys.13'
The Buckie and District Directory for 1926 shows that John Mair and others owned the steam drifter BF 388 Fanny Mair.14
He was the informant for, and present at, John Mair's death at 3 Cliff Terrace, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 16 December 1929.15 John died on 14 April 1962 at 6 Station Road, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 76.16,7,10,17 His body was interred after 14 April 1962 at Portknockie, Moray, Scotland, at Hillhead Cemetery.17
