     Francis George Mair was born on 5 August 1877 at Wick, Caithness, Scotland.1 He was the son of Francis William Mair and Ann Flett. His family was known by the tee-name of "Slater".

He married Annie Cordiner at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 20 December 1901.1 He was the informant for Annie Flett Mair's birth at 418 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 4 December 1904.3,4 Francis died on 8 June 1932 at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at age 54.1
